Exams: Pale pink leotard with attached skirt. Plain white ankle socks/white dance tights. Tap shoes for Tap exams (please check with teacher before adding heel taps/teletone taps as we prefer beginners to learn only with toe taps). Ballet or Jazz Shoes for Stage exams (we prefer ballet shoes for U/6’s) No sequins/glitter on leotard/stage shoes or hair. No jewellery/makeup. Hair in bun away from face.

Classes: As Exam-wear though pink cardigans may also be worn. No jewellery/watches.

U/6’s may wear pale pink leotard for Prep/Pre-Primary. (Infants Statuettes require Character Skirt and Character Shoes).

Exams & Classes: Black sleeveless leotard with white ballet tights. Pink ballet shoes with ribbons. No jewellery/makeup. Hair must be in bun at back of head; no fringes.  Short black ballet chiffon wrap skirt/ballet cardigan may be worn for class.

Grade 2 & Above: Black character shoes, character skirt (black full circle skirt with ribbons around the bottom. These may be made individually or ordered from Studio Dancewear.

Advanced: Pointe shoes at teachers’ discretion.

Exams: Girls:  Ballroom Dress or Leotard/Blouse/Full Circular Skirt & Short skirt for Latin. You may wear sequins/makeup. Any style Ballroom Shoe (U/12’s must have no higher heel than a cuban heel).  Boys:  Shirt/Tie/Bowtie/Trousers/Ballroom Shoes.  (Please see teacher for more advice)

Classes: Girls: A full circular skirt.  Shorter skirt for Latin. Ballroom Shoes.  Boys: Trousers/Shirt/Ballroom shoes.

Freestyle Exams: Disco costume or leotard. You may wear sequins and makeup. Any style jazz shoe. Dance trainers may not be worn. Advanced pupils to seek advice from teacher. Hair should be tied away from face.

Freestyle Classes: Any style leotard/crop top/jazz pants. Lycra dance skirts must be no longer than mid-thigh length if worn. Any style jazz shoe. Dance trainers may not be worn. Advanced pupils to seek advice from teacher. Hair should be tied away from face. No jewellery/watches.

Cheer Classes: As Freestyle and also pompons. Dance trainers may be worn for Juniors—please check with teacher if unsure.

Irish Soft Shoes, Irish Hard Shoes or Tap Shoes, Leotard or Irish Dress

White ZAZZ T-shirt, Black Jazz Pants, Jazz Shoes. Intermediate/Advanced Classes may require extra dance shoes. Dance Trainers are not suitable for most drama/performing arts work due to their inflexibility when doing character/acting work . Please remember to change for singing classes too as outdoor shoes are treacherous to the dance floors.
