Sunderland International Air show - Over the weekend of the Sunderland International Air show (Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd August 2011) a cheerleading group from ZAZZ performed in front of the crowds at the Air show at the Roker and Seaburn sea front, congratulations to everyone involved

Congratulations to Maria May Thompson who recently passed her full teaching qualification in Ballet with the N.C.D.T.A.  Congratulations also to Abagayle Brown who passed her teaching qualification in Freestyle with the N.C.D.T.A.  Abby Gunn has also successfully qualified as a Student Teacher in Ballet.

Congratulations to MARIA MAY THOMPSON!

BALLROOM COMPETITIONS:- Congratulations to those competitors who competed at this year's NCDTA Medallist of the Year Competition.  We won 16 sections including 3 Medallist of the Year Titles!  Thank you to Maureen Southern MBE who judged our Bank Holiday Monday Ballroom Competition.  Our dancers performed beautifully for their supporters and a lovely day was had by all. 

We were thrilled to have Gary Watson (Skye in Mama Mia and other West End Shows) come and do a "Cats" workshop on Sunday 6th February.  It was a real treat for those who had performed the week before at the Gala Theatre in 'All That Zazz'!  Everyone worked really hard learning the choreography from the West End Show including a spectacular lift.  Gary gave us another fantastic workshop on Thursday 21st April when some of our youngsters tried their hands at a piece from 'Saturday Night Fever'.  We look forward to Gary working with us again in the future and Good Luck to him in his upcoming tour with Michael Ball!

Congratulations to Charlotte Hall and Natasha Agnew who auditioned successfully to be Seniors in the English Youth Ballet Production of 'Coppelia' which is coming to Newcastle's Tyne Theatre in March 2011!  Please support them!

Northern Counties Medallist of the Year

Congratulations to our Ballroom Competitors who gained 10 'Medallist of the Year' Titles at this year's competition.  We are particularly proud to announce that we won EVERY Ballroom Title from U/6 to U/16!  We also had 17 trophy winners and lots of finalists.  Click here to see the fabulous results!

Congratulations Ryan!

Ryan Smith has successfully auditioned for the part of Louis in "The King & I" after a long hard day on Saturday 27th February.  The production will be held in September 2010 at Newcastle's Theatre Royal.  Please support him.  We are very proud!  Ryan's previous audition success includes Tiny Tim in 'A Christmas Carol' at the Gala Theatre Durham and 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' at Sunderland Empire where he performed as one of the children and understudied the part of Jeremy.

IDTA Fun Day of Competitions - 28th February 2010

Mamma Mia

Anne arranged for Gary Watson who plays Sky in Mamma Mia (Tour) to come and do a workshop at the Academy in December, 2009.  He taught Mamma Mia and Waterloo from the show to some of our energetic performers.  It was a fabulous Christmas Present to have Gary come to our school.  We look forward to him coming to the area again!
