The Home of Houghton Dance & Performing
Arts Academy
Zazz was established over 25 years ago (1984) as a dance school
in Houghton-le-Spring (between Durham and Sunderland in the
North-East of England). It opened new premises in Empire House,
Houghton-le-Spring in 2000, and has become one of the largest
Dance and Performing Arts centres in the North-East of England.
The last twelve years have also seen Zazz grow to host many
shows and events both at Empire House and at venues such as The
Royal Albert Hall, Disney Land Paris and Cruise Ships to name
but a few. As well as staging theatre performances we also run
all kinds of events such as Band Nights and Themed Parties. The
venue holds full licenses and is adaptable for all kinds of
events owning its own staging, theatre lighting and sound
systems. As well as fully qualified teachers we also employ a
fulltime technical director who oversees all functions.

This summer's production will be Disney's 'High School Musical'. Auditions will take place on Sunday 22nd April and Saturday 26th May 2012. Performers wanted from age 8 to 17 years to follow the successes of 'The Wizard of Oz' and 'Fame!' Click here for more info.

Thanks to Gary Watson (currently performing in
'Matilda the Musical' in London's West End)
for coming to do a 'Matilda' workshop and Advanced Commercial
Workshop. All those who took part had a fabulous time!
Congratulations
to Natasha Agnew who will be performing as a 'Swan' in the
English Youth Ballet's new production of 'Swan Lake' at the Tyne
Theatre, Newcastle. This is Natasha's third appearance
with the EYB and we are very proud of her. The
performances are 16th & 17th April, 2012. Please go along
and support her.
